This island destination is a favorite Holy Week getaway. It has been a tradition that life-size figures placed on “carrozas” are featured in a procession along main thoroughfares of Bantayan showing the passion and death of Jesus Christ from the Last Supper up to the scene in His tomb.

A diver’s haven is the best way to describe this island destination in the northeastern tip of Cebu province. Initially known for its clear and white sand beach, Malapascua later on was discovered for its beautiful dive spots.
This island might be small that you could tour the whole area in about two hours on foot, but coming here is guaranteed to be an unforgettable underwater experience.
Among the famous dive sites here include Monad Shoal where there are daily sightings of Thresher Sharks and Manta Rays; the Gato Island, which is a sea snake sanctuary; and Kimud Shoal whose main attraction is the hammerheads.
To reach Malapascua Island, take a bus at the North Bus Terminal in Subangdaku, Mandaue City going to the town of Daanbantayan. The travel time is around four hours. In Daanbantayan, enjoy a 30-minute boat ride from the Maya Wharf going to the island.
